Family swim in Mayan sink holes in Tulum. Otherwise known as cenotes! If you happen to be in the are of Tulum, Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Chichen Itza, swimming in a cenote is a must. They are everywhere in that area, and no two are the same. We did some research before hand and chose ones that offered life jackets and that were kid friendly to get down into.
We swam in Suytun, which is outside of Tulum, and Ik Kil which is right by Chichen Itza, and therefore can get very crowded with tourist. There is a small fee to enter a cenote and make sure you bring pesos, because the card readers rarely work in Mexico. Also, DO NOT wear sunscreen in the cenotes, it hurts the natural environment.
If you find a cool cenote that you want to share, be sure to comment below.
